UTENSILEGNO GUIDE BARS

The guide bar is the part of the set on which the chain slides during the penetration of the wood.
Utensilegno guides are of a length that allows the mounting of chains with a standard number of links.
All Utensilegno guides come with an original patented bar end, unique in its kind, supplied already assembled, broke-in and tested.
Utensilegno produces guide bars of all shapes and sizes for stationary and portable mortising machines, for special applications with 1, 2, 3 and 4 bearings, and to fit the major automatic processing centres (Hundegger, Schmidler, etc.) which make use of guide bars that can make mortises deep 500 mm, 600 mm and more.

UTENSILEGNO SPROCKETS

The sprocket is the third component part of the set. It is fixed to the motor shaft of the mortising machine and transmits the rotary movement to the chain. It is manufactured with specially formulated hardened steels.
Utensilegno sprockets are avalaible for each pitch of the chains:

  • for “A” pitch with 4 and 5 teeth (mortises 40 and 50 mm long;
  • for “B” pitch with 6 teeth (mortises 30, 35 mm long).
  • for “C” pitch with 6 teeth (mortises 20 and 25 mm long).

The inner diameter of the sprockets is 16 mm.The teeth of the sprockets are arranged on one, two or three rings gear crowns, depending on the thickness of the chain with which they have to be combined.
To find out which sprocket has to be used with a specific chain, you have to know the dimensions of the mortise to be made and the inner link size of the chain. The figures show the differences between the sprockets generally used for the different chain pitches.

UTENSILEGNO SPARE PARTS

The following spare parts are available for a correct use of the mortise chains and their easy maintenance:

  • Links for repairing the chains: they are available for repairing all Utensilegno chains. They are supplied in packages of two pieces and six pins each. The pins can also be supplied separately.
  • Lubricators for Utensilegno guide bars: they have a 1/8" GAS thread and they are available in the types indicated in the figure at your right hand side.
  • Copper pipes for the lubrication of the guide bars: they are available in different lengths, according to the length of the guide bars.
  • Patented bar ends for Utensilegno guide bars: unique in their kind, they are available for all guide bar sizes produced in pitches A, B and C.

They allow for reparation of the bar guides in a short period of time – five or ten minutes at the most – that can be carried out successfully by any regular employee.
It is possible to change the final part of the guide completely with a single operation – the part that gets warned out more easily – that consists of the bearing and the two plates. After this operation, the guide bar will be as good as new, and it will be possible to repair it again several times, since the entire final part subject to wear and tear is totally substituted, with significant advantages to the user.
The other guides instead, are often impossible to repair due to the complete wear out of the bearing housing that cannot be any longer repaired if not with long and expensive operations by specialized personnel. Another expensive replacement of the entire guide would be required.
